Mumford and Sons Wedding Band
Mumford and Sons wedding band Mister Kanish started the festival band craze way back in 2013 when we decided the event industry was missing something a little different. We thought why not put together a band that play super upbeat folky cover versions of all the songs we'd been playing at weddings and events. So we cracked out the violin, double bass and acoustic guitars and crafted our own style. You won't hear music like this anywhere else. We play Britney Spears, UK garage, pop, rock, hip hop all in our own vintage style. And people seem to enjoy it!!
One of our folky cover versions saw us voted #1 Covers Band in the world, by the people of France on a TV show showed watched by over a million people.

Choosing Mister Kanish as the band to play at our wedding has been the first thing we’ve done after getting engaged. We’ve found them during some random wandering session on YouTube years ago and fell in love with their cover of White Stripes - Seven Nation Army. We’re so glad we did choose them - they were FANTASTIC! There wasn’t a single guest who hasn’t commented on how awesome the music at the wedding was. We had people who’s never danced at any wedding before dancing the night away. I had no idea that Martyn (the groom) had such moves! ? We had an amazing time - the day after the wedding we’re sat in a bar, discussing the next upcoming ocassion to ask them to play for us, that’s how AWESOME they are. If you’re looking for the best band to play at your wedding, don’t think twice - just book Mister Kanish. THANK YOU GUYS for helping us have the best time at our wedding! Maggie & Martyn

We had Mister Kanish play at our wedding in July last year, and what can I say...THE best wedding band EVER!!!! ? We knew these guys would be good, but they were even better than we expected! Some of our best memories of our wedding were from the evening entertainment from Mister Kanish! They can do anything, from pop, rock and indie, to hip hop and R&B! They did an incredible 90s dance medley which went down a treat and even learnt our cheesy NSYNC number to do as our first dance song (I’m pretty certain this will be a first for them...and probably a last ? but they learnt it anyway and did an amazing job!!!). Plus, you know when your band do a rendition of the Thong Song, you’ve picked the best! ? We loved the fact they could play electric or acoustic (we loved having the violin included in our first dance!!!). They put such a good twist on their songs which I believe makes them truly unique. Ben is an awesome singer and they’re all super talented making them sound A-MAZ-ING!!! Not only that, but my husband was over the moon that we were able to have a trance set arranged for the end of the night...a bit different, but was a massive hit with him and the best man! Booking was straight forward and Chris was so helpful with any questions we had and was really quick to respond! We honestly couldn’t have asked for a nicer group of guys to play at our wedding and would highly recommend them to anyone! Our guests were blown away by how good they were and had nothing but good things to say about them! So if you’re still undecided, rest assured you won’t be disappointed if you book Mister Kanish, and you might just regret it if you don’t!!! Love Nicole and Chris! ✨???? xxx

Where to start! The friendliest group of guys you could ever wish to meet and so incredibly professional during the run up to our wedding and, of course, on the day itself. They're very quick to respond to any questions beforehand (which is very reassuring for a nervous bride!) and are very accommodating when it comes to requests. They really are the best band out there and I would encourage anyone thinking of hiring Mister Kanish to just do it, you will not regret it!

We had Mister Kanish play at our festival weekend wedding in August 17 and they were absolutely brilliant. Really good at communicating beforehand and giving us an idea of the sorts of music they played - they also let us choose specific songs we did/didn't want. On the day they were extremely professional and a fantastic band, all of our guests loved them and we've recommended them to others! Thanks again! Steve

Hi Guys!! WOW!!!!! I don't even know if I have the words to tell you how lucky we feel to have had Mister Kanish at our wedding!!! I don't think I could ever have imagined having such an incredible night... From our first dance to the last minute of the night the dance floor was full and there wasn't a single person that didn't comment on how incredible you guys were!! We have never had so much fun and are absolutely over the moon that you were a massive part of a day that we will never ever forget. Messages are still flooding in about how amazing you were and I think we are half way through planning another party just to have you guys back!!! We didn't want it to end... I really can't thank you enough... You really were the highlight of our day and everyone else's that joined us!! Thank you so so so much!!! Best Wishes and we hope to see you again in the future!! Folk Style FAQ
Here are a list of questions we are asked frequently by clients who are interested in our Mumford and Sons style.
Our wedding venue has a sound limiter - can you cope?
We regularly play wedding venues with sound restrictions. Our folky style is perfect for this as we don't require loud amplifiers to get that acoustic sound across. We also regularly use a state of the art electric drum kit which means we can be as loud or as quiet as is needed and have full control over the sound. Some venues we've played with sound limitations include Cain Manor in Surrey, The Tithe Barn in Petersfield, and Cripps Barn in Gloucestershire. I'd say the lowest limit we can realistically do is around 85db, but please ask us if you are unsure. We have also, on occasion, performed fully acoustically, but don't recommend this as it's often tricky to be heard over a crowd.
What songs from your repertoire can you play in the Mumford and Sons style?
We can play around 90% of our songs in the repertoire on the acoustic instruments. Some of the heavier stuff is a little tricky but we've adapted folky versions for some that you might not expect including the garage medley, thong song, and Mr Brightside.
I'm worried that the folky style isn't upbeat enough for our wedding - will people dance?
Absolutely yes. We engineered the sound based on super upbeat folk bands like Mumford and Sons, The Gypsy Kings, and Crystal Fighters with the aim for it to be as pumping as possible. The arrangements we have created are as upbeat as can be and more often than not guests hit the dance floor immediately and stay there from start to finish.
If we have a special request or first dance can you folk it up?
We've arranged a lot of special requests for brides and grooms over the years. You can see a fair few of these rehearsed on our youtube or instagram. Tracks have included Stacey's Mom, Eye of The Tiger, You Are The Best Thing and more.
