Mister Kanish began in 2006 and since then we've played at over 50 weddings a year across the world. We have performed all over the UK as well as at weddings in Dublin, The Isle of Man, Strasbourg, The Dordogne, Madrid and Majorca. Our line-up includes the same people every week so you can rest assured that we'll bring an awesome vibe to your wedding. The 5-piece play a mix of violin, double bass, mandolin, acoustic guitars, electric guitars, bass, and drums all mixed with Ben's powerful vocals and four part harmonies.
We have hundreds of amazing testimonials from happy couples. Just have a flick through our latest reviews that have been posted by brides and grooms on Facebook. There's more below along with lots of videos!

Having seen you guys play at a friend's wedding, you were our very first booking for our own wedding more than a year ago and I am SO pleased you could make it. We are really pleased we chose to have the 8 piece with horns, it sounded awesome. You are all so incredibly talented and the diverse range of songs covered made it so much fun!! We have had nothing but positive comments from our guests and as your selfie video demonstrates you really got the crowd on to the dancefloor!! I am really hoping that we get to see you again soon, because you are just SO darn good! Thanks again xx

Absolutely phenomenal!!! I’m so so so happy we had them - the repertoire was incredible, they really made the wedding. By far the best wedding band we have heard, would definitely recommend them. Their set included everything from Bruce Springsteen and The Killers to Faithless and Backstreet Boys - couldn’t get off the dance floor. Nothing but fabulous feedback from our guests.

We were lucky to have Mister Kanish at my daughter’s recent wedding party. We had high hopes for them as what we had seen online looked great and they certainly didn’t disappoint. A great band, great vocals and instrumentalists, fabulous covers. Love them and hope to see them again someday.

We hired these guys as our wedding band and they were mind-blowingly good! Just awesome!! Would definitely recommend the addition of the trio of brass! Thanks guys, you were superb! <3

What can we say?!We knew you were going to be amazing and had pretty high expectations for you, but you exceeded them all. We had the best day of our lives and you guys played a big part in that. Everyone kept saying how much they enjoyed it! Even our parents friends who said they had no idea of the words, but couldn’t help but dance away. We didn’t think it could get any better until you played ‘one last song...one last song’ the acoustic version of don’t look back in anger. That’s a very long winded way of saying thank you to you and the guys. We are so grateful
Unlike most wedding bands we offer two distinct styles.
The original. Mister Kanish is our rock/pop setup. Electric guitars and bass, drums, and vocals - simple but incredibly effective. Ideal for the more traditional wedding where guests enjoy the sounds of Bruno Mars, The Killers and other modern chart and sing along classics played close to, but not exactly, like the record. We play everything from soul to funk to pop to rock, plus dance and hip hop medleys, all with our own edge which only comes from over 10 years playing together.
Same band, same people - we are the original “Mumford and Sons esque” folk style band. Acoustic guitars, double bass, mandolin, violin, banjo and drums. Ideal for festival / vintage styled, or quirky weddings, or perhaps a wedding in a rustic barn venue. Imagine Mumford and Sons or The Lumineers played covers of all your favourite songs - that’s Classic Kanish. Remember we can play any song from our repertoire using this setup - our folky version of the hip hop medley is an assault on the senses.
Some songs work best with the Classic setup, others were written to rock. You can book your preferred style for over 2 hours of live music. If you want to see the full versatility of Mister Kanish then book MK Best of Both. We play at least one set of all your favourite folked up classics, then switch over and crank up the party as the night continues with the rock/pop setup. This is our most frequently booked option, and generally works best for our audiences who love the combination of sounds.

Mister Kanish played at our wedding in July 2014 and our friends still talk about it! They did both their classic/vintage style and electric rocky style stuff and both were awesome! If we did it all again booking this band would be top of my 'to do' list!

Mister Kanish played at our wedding last week. They were booked last minute but were more than we could have hoped for! Amazing tunes sang in a different way from your usual cheesy wedding cover band. We wish we could go back to our wedding as guests and enjoy them all over again. We really cannot recommend them enough! Everyone has talked about them since.. hope we get to see you again one day! 💖

A bit of a belated review (our wedding was last October), but what can we possibly say. You guys blew our minds once again with your set, and your rendition of Party Hard for our first dance was absolutely perfect. Thanks again for being part of our day, and giving all our guests the time of their lives for the evening. If anyone is reading this and still questioning whether to hire these guys, what are you doing?! Just book already!!

Where do I start? Amazing talented guys who are lovely to work with. Every song you played was an absolute banger and your twists on it made them. The dance floor was packed the moment you started and the requested song at the end of your set was incredible. Can’t thank you guys enough and hope we get to work together again soon!!

Dear Ollie, and all the MK boys! From the bottom of our hearts Sally and I (Merriscourt, Sept 30th, 2017), would like to say an incredible thank you for helping to make our wedding day so special. We'd be lying if we didn't say that we had high expectations - having watched 'all' your videos online! - but you truly blew us away. You guys are good for every five star review and I'm not embarrassed to admit I was even a little star-struck! Parklife and the Calvin Harris songs we asked for we're an absolute highlight, but nothing could top the finale of multiple encores finishing with Oasis' 'Don't Look Back In Anger', with all our guests circling us and coming in at the end. Possibly the highlight of the entire evening! To any soon-to-be married couples out there looking for a band, then look no further. The lads were friendly, professional, were easy to deal with, sounded incredible, and had everyone talking about them the following day. We genuinely couldn't have asked for more... Sally and I always said how much we wanted the dance-floor filled all night, it was one of our big hopes for the day, and MK made this happen. We hope you had a good time too and, once again, thanks so much. All the best. Ben and Sally McGrath

There are no words to describe how kind, thoughtful and incredibly talented this group of gentlemen are. From enquiring about booking them, to learning and playing our first dance outside, to rocking the dance floor with everything from Britney to The Killers, Mister Kanish were everything you could wish for from a wedding band, and more! We are eternity grateful! Thank you so very much, from the new Mr & Mrs Taylor-Holt!

We had Mister Kanish play at our festival weekend wedding in August 17 and they were absolutely brilliant. Really good at communicating beforehand and giving us an idea of the sorts of music they played - they also let us choose specific songs we did/didn't want. On the day they were extremely professional and a fantastic band, all of our guests loved them and we've recommended them to others! Thanks again! Steve

Honestly we couldn't recommend Mister Kanish enough, they played at our wedding in September 2016 and kept the dance floor full from start to finish - they even gave in to the demands of an encore from our guests! So professional to deal with ahead of the wedding, and very accommodating to the needs of our venue (even bringing electric drums). Learnt our first dance amazingly well and were lovely when we changed our mind about the song a few weeks before the wedding. We only wish we had another occasion to book them for!! Thanks guys 🙂
